Icon A5 trainer livery ≥

I art directed the Icon A5 trainer fleet livery design. Design by Michael McGee. I briefed Mike to reference the Marlboro F1 race car livery from the '80s and '90s, as well as USAF T-38 trainer day-glow paint schemes from the '60s. These examples illustrated a concept I thought would be a great application for the trainer fleet: large sections of red over a white vehicle applied in a very bold and graphic manner. Also, the CEO of Icon was a former USAF pilot, so I knew he would immediately get the T-38 reference. Lastly, I asked Mike to approach the aircraft numbering in a similar way the Breitling Jet Team numbered their jets.
